Onanda 1922

See the Beauty of Camp Onanda in 1992

Albert R. Stone was a local (Rochester) professional photographer who provides many images over many years for the Democrat & Chronicle and other local newspapers. He was invited to Onanda to photograph the new "Dormitory" (Babcock Hall) for girls.

This building, after years of good use, would be sawed into sections that would become the dining hall, boathouse, and Haeho.

The architect who designed this building in 1922 was Edwin S. Gordon. Rather interesting, and cool, that Gordon was also working on the construction of the Eastman Theater in Rochester at the same time.
